A good friend of mine, here at work, told me last week about a problem with his wife Acura's headlights. He said they stopped working and that he went and got 2 Sylvania Silverstar and replaced the bulbs, but it did not fix the problem. I was busy thinking about some research experiment I was doing at the moment in the lab, so I couldn't give him an instant answer, even though subconsciously I am thinking, it could not have been the bulbs to start with, because it doesn’t make sense that both bulbs would die at the same time..a few minutes later a bulb (not the headlights) lights up in my head and I tell him, it must be your headlights RELAY .. I have a bag full of them at home from my clip, you can stop by after work and see if I have one that would fit. I don’t know if Honda and Nissan uses the same relays, but I could fix it in 2 minutes if I have one, if not just go to the dealer and buy one for $10-20 and replace it. One week went by and I forgot about the whole story, today I ask him if he ever did what I told him: Me: hey did you ever fix your wife Acura's headlights?
Him: Ohh.. I just took it to the dealer.
Me: What did they do?
Him: They just changed the relay.
Me: cool .. just curious, how much did they charge for that ?
Him: $300
Me: !!!!!! $300 how did they justify charging $300 for a 10 minutes job !?
Him: Silence .. I don't know if I should be mad, sad or sorry !
